Did you know...

Right now in the Church of St. Philip, 40% of those attending Mass speak Spanish as their first language. Ten months into our fiscal year, the collection and donations from the 1 PM Mass is almost $15,000. The expenses for the Hispanic community are a little less than $1500.

Each month, St. Philip Church donates $175 to the Woodland Community Service Center. An anonymous parishioner also donates $100 each month to the Center for gas vouchers. I floated a trial balloon asking if St. Philip should enter into a Sister Parish relationship with a parish in Guadalajara. There was much resistance to the idea. I would like to support a parish in Guadalajara and I think we have come up with a good way to do it.

For those who think a Sister Parish relationship is a good idea and would like to support such an idea, we will be putting a donation box in the vestibule. You can make your donation at any time. For those of you who would like to keep your offering closer to home, you can find an envelope for the Woodland Community Service Center in the vestibule. I hope this set up is agreeable to everyone.

May God bless you in your generosity.
